The Sustainable Chemistry Alliance (SCA) has been investing in the commercialization of green, sustainable technologies, processes and businesses that are beyond concept and into the piloting stage. SCA has eight equity investments to date. Experience and financial returns from these and future investments will be used to propagate reinvestment in this emerging 21st Century business sector.
The Sustainable Chemistry Alliance is a not-for-profit organization established in 2008 to promote growth and prosperity by fostering and supporting innovation, development, commercialization and related business activities and projects in the area of green and sustainable chemistry. SCA is supported by the Bioindustrial Innovation Centre, a Centre of Excellence for Commercialization of Research with funding from the Government of Canada.
In addition to providing access to "smart venture capital", SCA is able to provide business connectivity through its staff and its distinguished board of directors comprised of senior business executives. SCA's management team and board are experienced in business and well networked in the Bioindustrial sector across Canada, allowing them to play a strong advisory role to investee companies and other businesses in the sector.
