CORE has put together commercially proven process technology and equipment in an innovative manner to create an efficient route to gasoline from biomass. In CORE's patented process, synthesis gas produced from biomass is reacted to dimethyether (DME) and then converted to gasoline using well known ZSM-5 catalyst. CORE plans to build its first biorefinery in British Columbia where it aims to convert waste pine beetle-killed biomass to bio-gasoline. In this way, the company plans to produce 92-octane bio-gasoline with a significantly lower GHG footprint than gasoline from crude oil.

CORE BioFuel anticipates that it will create a demand for 150 to 200 jobs during the construction of the biorefinery and 40 new full-time jobs to operate the new facility. Once this first plant is established, the company plans to build additional biorefineries based on its patented MKS technology package.

CORE is well positioned to launch its first biorefinery. It has secured commercial agreements for a low-cost source of renewable biomass and an off-take agreement to purchase 100% of its bio-gasoline production. CORE has targeted to start construction of a $100 M biorefinery in 2012.
