Woodland Biofuels Inc.
Woodland Biofuels owns patented technology that represents a breakthrough in cellulosic ethanol production, efficiency and cost. Woodland expects to be, by a significant margin, the lowest cost producer of automotive fuel in North America.
The key to its process is efficiency. Woodland's plants are expected to produce about 130 gallons of ethanol per dry tonne of feedstock. This is approximately 70% more efficient than competing technologies. As a result, Woodland's ethanol plants will return in excess of 30% on total capital, with significantly higher returns to shareholders based on debt/leverage.
Woodland's Catalyzed Pressure Reduction™ (CPR™) technology is an innovative process for producing ethanol. The technology utilizes gasification, not fermentation, followed by a series of highly efficient catalytic reactions – it is these catalytic reactions that would enable Woodland to be the industry's lowest cost producer.
Currently, 97% of the world's supply of ethanol is derived from fermentation of corn, grains or sugar. Woodland's technology provides the flexibility to produce ethanol from multiple feedstocks including forest, agricultural and other forms of biomass such as municipal waste.
Woodland plans to build, own and operate ethanol plants on a global basis and to license the technology to key strategic industry players. On the build, own and construct four commercial scale plants over the next five
years – these plants alone, without considering any other revenue source, are expected to generate about $142 million in annualized EBITDA.
